Destin, Florida trip

We went to Destin, Florida for a family reunion with the Hammer family.  It was a great vacation.  It was so relaxing.  We stayed in condos near the beach.  We stayed Saturday to Saturday.  Destin has the nicest beaches.  The sand is so soft and has no shells.  The water was so clear and perfect temperature.

Our condo was nice, but the first couple of days our air conditioner went out.  We finally got it fixed.  The girls slept on the bunk beds the first couple of nights, but kept falling off.  We moved them to the pull out couch.  They would crash at bedtime and actually slept in every day.

We went out every morning to the beach around 10am and stayed all afternoon and then went to the pool and rinsed off.  The kids played in the sand, went boggie boarding and jumped the waves.  Andy and I loved swimming in the ocean too.  It was such a good time.  Dallin was a little fussy, but he took a nap under the tent each day and loved playing in the water.  He got a cold and cough while we were there so we had some rough couple of nights.

Every night each family took a turn to cook.  It was fun to visit and have good food.  The kids had a great time playing with their cousins.  We stayed next to my parents and the girls loved going back and forth between condos.

My brother Travis and his wife and youngest daughter weren't able to come so my parents drove and picked up their 3 boys and brought them to Florida.  Glad they could come and be with their cousins.  Travis's middle son Alex is hilarious.  He told us he calls his other Grandpa "Grumppa" because he is grumpy.  While my Dad had the boys he let them do whatever they wanted.  When we went to Golden Corral for dinner he brought Chad who is 6 a cotton candy during dinner to eat.  He took Alex to a PG-13 movie, and let them  probably eat candy for breakfast.  So anyways Alex started calling my Dad "Free Pa" because he let them do whatever.  I love my Dad.  All of my nephews kept teasing him and calling him Free Pa.

We wish we could go back tomorrow and do it all over again.
